RE: Full-timing in a TH?

We are 9 mo out of the year in the TH. After looking at about every rig on the market we decided that we liked the open floor plan and the steps up to the loft bunk in the KZ 41RL. Got away from the kitchen island so that it is still possible to get into the fridge with the slides in. We dont have kids but have 2 large dogs on the road with us.
Good luck with your adventure

RE: Warrior's assets siezed

Hate to see anyone drawn into buying what seems like a deal then to find out there will be no one to stand behind it.
But really!! We must be informed buyers. If you are going to spend 40-70k on anything I sure hope you do your homework. That is how we found this forum and how we decided that WW was not even worth looking at.
We did our homework, we bought a new KZ. Our second and we are still happy with our choice.

RE: New (to us) HDT Tow Vehicle

Thanks guys for all the views. We were going to try the load back as far as possible. Not knowing any more about theses then I do now I was thinking that we need to try to take as much off the front as possible. With 250 gal of fuel tanks sitting forward seems that would put a lot of weight on the front. I know that takes a lot of weight out of the wallet. We were able to get the truck but had to get a loan to fill the tanks.
The old girl is in good shape for what we have into it. Going to tear out the sleeper area and redo all that then look forward to heading out in the early fall.

RE: Volvo TV

Thanks guys for all the replies.
We have learned a lot from the posts and the links to people and places in the know. Looks like this would be a good move for us pulling a heavy 5er. I believe the SO is interested in the truck, thinks she will like driving it, and will love the ability to stop much better then she can now.
If any of you are looking for a little stop and visit in the Lake of the Ozarks area looks us up, we keep the boat in the water and looking for an excuse to kick back and meet others on the forums.
Our few months home are like the vacation. Get caught up here then when the leaves beginning to change we head out for warmer places.

we are spending the summer at the Lake of the Ozarks in MO and only have dial up here. Makes loading pictures painful.

Volvo TV

Hey all
I have been quiet around here for awhile, guess I have been busy.. RVing maybe.
On our return to MO from CA last month we decided that we wanted to look at a larger TV. The f350 just feels small in front of the KZ41RL loaded up for the 6-9 month stays.
We came across a nice looking 99 Volvo powered by the Detroit 60 series 365 hp 1250 lbs torque, 10sp gears, all air ride. Set up nice for towing RV.
My question to all of you that have made the step to the big truck for towing. Are you pleased with the move? What are the benefits? Drawbacks?
Thanks, Allan

RE: CARLISE TIRES

Most all wheels have a rating that exceeds or is equal to 80psi. bet you will have no problem at all. Sure see more trailers comming out with D ratings now and not the E. Cost I guess but would never put the D rating back on.
Good choice

RE: Upgrade Memory or wait and buy new PC?

Careful with that Compaq. If you do format and reinstall you will need the original disc. Nothing else will work on that one. To restore would make more of a difference then more ram would be my bet.
I would still look at a new computer. For the money you will get 2gig standard and more HD faster vid. What ever you do keeping it clean will help keep the speed up.
by looking at this message you have added one more unneeded file to your computer.
Good Luck.

RE: Who is pulling 40 plus feet?

We also have the long KZ. Never actually measured it but I think that Diesel is right with the 42.5. Dealer had it at 44.. at this point it don't matter, they are long. You will need to look a little closer where you are heading for fuel or camping. Watch the rear end swing when turning tight. I bet its 4 feet of swing back there. Get a couple 2way radios and a good friend or spouse to talk to ya while getting in and out of the tight spots. Try not to look at the axles when turning tight. Nothing good to see there. Then there is the level spots. With that length you may need a lot of blocks.
Glad we did it. Bet you will be to. mostly

RE: 110v TV sound to 12v speakers?

Sure you can. On our new KV the stereo was lacking so i got a surround receiver, sub and a center channel speakers and wired in the 4 speakers in the ceiling. Wala surround. That is much better.

RE: Intermittent Brakes

I occasionally get that now that we are pulling 3 axles. Was told by the dealer that I needed a bigger controller for this rig. How many axles do you have? Any changes just before it started?

08 New Vision 41RL

Picked up our New 08 41RL New Vision Thursday. Overall we are very happy with the floorplan and all the counter and storage space. I believe that KZ makes one of the best rigs out here.
There is one issue that we are having that is really starting to get to me.
Cant seem to get a quality cable connection in the living room. At first I was not able to get any cable in any outlet. I have talked to the tech and he has given me some pointers and places to look for bad crimps. Fist found that the cable feed into the booster was pulled loose. I repaired that and now have decent cable in the loft and bedroom. Still have poor signal in the living room. Seems that every cable end I touch falls apart.. If I climb on the roof I can get good signal in the living room but no signal in any other room. Not sure what to do other then go to radio shack and get new cable ends and replace them all that I can find and pull out of the walls.
Seems that they could buy a real cable crimper at the factory.
It really looks like they just used pliers and smashed the ends.

RE: Ventura, CA Dec 30-Jan8

I did call Lake Casitas. Looks like a nice park and we were wanting to stay there for our extended stay. This is what I was told by the gal.
There were no full hookups available. But they did have a dump station.
30.00 a night (not bad in itself)
would have to pay 7.00 a day for each of the two bikes we keep in the toyhauler.
4.00 per day for each pet. (we have 2)
7.00 registration fee.
Even if we don't stay Sunday, we would be charged for Sunday.
By the time that she had it in the mid 50's per day, and one day that we wouldn't even be there. I wasn't too interested.

Ventura, CA Dec 30-Jan8

For those who live or camp in the Ventura area.
We are looking for a place to stay from Dec 30-Jan 8.
We did manage to get a semi hookup spot from Jan 9- April.
Seems that all the parks that we have checked are full. Would even settle for a spot will just enough power to keep the fridge cool.
We are pulling an 08 New Vision 43'. That seems to limit us a bit on the state parks.
Any thoughts?
Thanx Allan
